What it is
The shoulder is a complex structure that includes three joints working together, plus several surrounding muscles that provide support and stability. This complexity enables you to perform amazing feats of movement—reaching, lifting, throwing and much more. But it also means that the shoulder joint is susceptible to wear and tear and injury.
Many shoulder problems can be treated with anti-inflammatory medication, physical therapy or other non-invasive methods. In some cases, however, shoulder surgery is the best option.
Whatever treatment is right for you, your Allina Health Orthopedics care team will work together to provide seamless, expert care and support.
