Practice philosophy: I listen to and partner with patients and families, serving as a resource as they navigate the journey of childhood and any health issues that arise. I invite children to participate in their visits and speak directly to them.
What are you passionate about and why? Empowering families to make informed medical decisions. There are often many different reasonable options when facing a health decision, and different decisions will feel best for each individual family.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? An elementary school art teacher. I’ve always enjoyed visual art and working with kids.
What is something you have learned from your patients? To always start by listening and asking what their goals are for the visit.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Helping kids feel comfortable during their visit by explaining physical exam steps beforehand and engaging them in conversation. It’s important that they feel heard.
What is your personal health goal? Cultivating a mindfulness practice, listening to my body, and getting outside most days.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Embracing the Minnesota weather and getting out in nature even if it’s raining or snowing. It serves as such a reset!
What are you most proud of? Prioritizing time with and being present in the moment with those I love.
What are a few of your personal achievements? In this phase of life with young kids, one of the things I’ve worked hard towards is sitting down for dinner together as a family most nights.
