What is your practice philosophy? I strive to provide high-quality, patient-centered care by listening to the patient’s concerns and how their condition affects their quality of life. I believe the patient plays a crucial role in making choices regarding the best treatment plan for their specific goals. Treatment options can be complex and confusing, so patient education is incredibly important. If a patient has a good understanding of their diagnosis and treatment plan, they are often more engaged in the treatment process and improve their outcome.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about taking care of active individuals of all different ages and athletic abilities ranging from the weekend warrior to the elite athlete. As a former collegiate athlete and someone who remains active, I understand the importance athletics and staying active plays in patient’s lives. I strive to help get patients back to their desired activity level whatever it may be.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would: Work at a dog rescue
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became an orthopaedic surgeon because helping patients improve their quality of life is a very rewarding career. As a sports medicine surgeon, I have the opportunity to work with patients of all ages and different backgrounds which keeps my job interesting. I knew I wanted to be an orthopaedic surgeon in high school and never looked back.
