Practice philosophy: I most enjoy the less busy moments when I can be more available to spend time assessing the other factors of health, building a rapport and providing further health guidance. I am rewarded with patients gratitude and complimentary nature for simply doing what I consider to be the job of every physician, counseling on options for better health
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about bringing patients better options to achieve optimal health with a focus on lifestyle modification.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A photographer/journalist for National Geographic
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? Helping people is second nature. I worked as a CNA many years ago before medical school. It gives me joy to see others improve. We can all do better with our health but have to strive to thrive.
What is something you have learned from your patients? Most things I currently practice. We work as a team and my patients seem to understand they have to put forth effort as well. We work together to get you better!
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? To keep up to date on the latest and greatest medical knowledge to benefit my patients.
What is your personal health goal? To age well with minimal medical interventions or medications.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Become active and engaged with my health as effort is required to attain and maintain optimal health. Strive for excellence not perfection.
What are you most proud of? I practice what I preach by eating a plant-based diet, exercising daily (I have a daily running streak of over 10 years), and managing stress with regular meditation, time in nature or other mind relaxation practice.

Dr. Thompson was amazing. He listened to my concerns and offered excellent feedback and recommendations. I felt he genuinely cared about my health, asked questions to build understanding of past and present symptoms and was willing to give excellent recommendations.
