Practice philosophy: Medication should be utilized in conjunction with other treatment options to achieve optimal wellness and health. In all instances patient freedom and rights are of utmost importance and should be a primary factor in decision making.

What are you passionate about and why? I believe in protecting the patient's right to autonomy and decreasing the stigma of mental illness. Patients with psychiatric concerns deserve the same level of respect and freedom afforded to patients with other concerns.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? I would work with animals

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I have been a nurse for 27 years and have worked in a variety of settings. Transitioning to a provider was a logical next step as I feel I have more to give

What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned the importance of listening and respect. Treatment success requires a team effort and a good team requires effective communication

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I enjoy the hard cases that require innovative thinking and problem solving. In this way I grow professionally and learn new ways to practice that can benefit all patients.

What is your personal health goal? I would like to increase my flexibility and strength

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? After you are full, food left on your plate can go to waste or waist. Your choice

What are you most proud of? Obtaining my Master's Degree and APRN despite multiple obstacles along the way

What are a few of your personal achievements? I run a successful part-time business and have learned how to repurpose furniture to keep it out of the landfill
