What is your practice philosophy? My practice philosophy is to help others develop a healthier relationship with both food and their bodies. Eating should be simple, sustainable, and enjoyable. Overtime, making healthful choices becomes a habit, and these habits become your lifestyle.
What are you passionate about? And why? I am passionate about debunking the nonsense, confusion, and complexity of healthful eating. I hope to continue to inspire others to adopt the outlook that each meal and snack is an opportunity to add nourishing foods, and not a daunting task of strict rules and restrictions.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Lawyer
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Helping patients problem-solve and come up with creative solutions to the various obstacles and roadblocks that interfere with progressing towards their nutritional goals.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I knew I wanted to be a registered dietitian when I was a senior in high school. I found myself in an unhealthy relationship with food, and overall confused about nutrition. I saw a dietitian myself, learned a lot, and fell in love with the field. I knew I wanted to impact someone like she impacted me.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? The best health advice I apply to my own life in the pursuit of following a healthy lifestyle is remembering progress is my goal, not perfection.
