What are you passionate about? And why? I am passionate about the health of whole families and communities because I truly believe we are all raised by and supported by our communities. As an internist and pediatrician, I believe we must consider the health of the whole family in order to best care for children and adults and I am excited to partner with patients of all ages to empower them to take an active role in their health.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Farmer! My husband and I really enjoy growing own own fruits and vegetables from seeds and getting to try new recipes with all of the fresh produce.
Something I have learned from my patients is: From my patients I have learned that trust is the foundation of all patient-physician relationships, and it is a true privilege of this career to be trusted by patients with their health and wellbeing.
My personal health goal is: To stay active outdoors in all four seasons!
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Some of the best health advice I have received is about creating healthy habits – there is a lot of good evidence for creating habits. I have created habits in my own life around running, cooking, and showing gratitude, and I know these habits have contributed significantly to my overall wellbeing.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the choices I have made that have allowed me to be a physician, a wife, and a mother and to feel confident in all those roles.
