Practice philosophy: I work with your providers, educate about medications and conditions, and adjust medications to maximize their effect. I combine clinical evidence and personal preference with the goal of empowering people to make informed decisions about their medications and about their health.
What are you passionate about and why? I'm passionate about providing patient-centered care and working within a team to achieve health and medication goals. Having the patient at the center of the process is imperative for success. I enjoy celebrating when tasks have been achieved and problem solving during set backs.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A teacher! I enjoy helping others learn and achieve goals.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I really enjoy the collaborative part of healthcare and the team-based approach to ensuring optimal outcomes for patients. This works well with my love of education and continual growth.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned the importance of listening carefully to my patient's stories. This provides a lot of insight into a patient's overall health and the role medications play in their lives.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Guidelines and recommendations are constantly changing and there is always something new to be learned. This keeps medicine and pharmacy exciting!
