Emily Hein, PharmD, BCACP
My specialties:
- Ambulatory care pharmacy
- Pharmacy
Professional interests:
- Diabetes
- Geriatrics
- Preventative medicine
- Medication education
I am an ambulatory care pharmacist practitioner with interests in diabetes, smoking cessation, preventive care and patient education.
Best part of my work: I love building relationships and helping people achieve their health care goals.
Practice philosophy: I work with your providers, educate about medications and conditions, and adjust medications to maximize their effect. I will take action to correct drug therapy problems and follow up to ensure a resolution. I combine clinical evidence and personal preference with the goal of empowering people to make informed decisions about their medications and about their health.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: movie critic – I love seeing new films and discussing them with my husband.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? In college, I knew I wanted to help people, but I also enjoyed science and chemistry classes. Becoming an ambulatory care pharmacist seemed like the perfect fit, since I can help people better understand their medications. I decided to pursue pharmacy as my career in 2009.
Something I have learned from my patients is: I have learned to ask questions and listen deeply, especially if someone isn’t taking a medication. There is often a good reason for it, like cost concerns or side effects.
My personal health goal is: to live a well-balanced life in all aspects of health – not only physically, but also mentally, socially, financially, and spiritually.
What are you most proud of? Raising my beautiful daughter who was born in 2018.

Emily Hein was wonderful and very helpful
Very in the know and Frindly.
She cares
Very helpful
I like her. She is extremely knowledgeable and very patient. We had a good discussion about all my meds. I have a lot of them.
she was very knowledgeable and made several recommendations for changes in my meds.
Emily was extremely informed about the medications we discussed and made some excellent recommendations relative to getting me updated as to dosages and timing of the meds I take on a daily basis.
Emily listens, has vast knowledge, knows where to research, is friendly and inspires confidence in her answers. She also follows up. We would both (my husband has seen her, too) refer others to her. She gave us the time and answered all our questions-never made us feel rushed.
Knowledgeable care & easy manner is sharing information that will improve my well-being based up my diagnosis's This is a valuable service
