Our preventive cardiology clinics at Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute (AHMHI) offer comprehensive programs for adults who are at risk for heart disease and other cardiovascular diseases. Our preventive cardiology care team also addresses the needs of patients who have experienced previous heart-related health problems to prevent further occurrences or progression of heart disease.
Both AHMHI and the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation remain committed to research improving the cardiovascular health of individuals and communities around the globe. Our patients have the opportunity to participate in research and clinical trials.

Preventive cardiology at Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute
At your appointment, our health care team evaluates your heart disease risk factors, provides recommendations for a heart-healthy lifestyle including diet and exercise, discusses medication management as needed, and tailors a care plan to maximize your cardiovascular health.
Necessary laboratory work can be completed at any Allina Health lab during the two weeks before your appointment. This allows for a timely review at the appointment and assists in care plan decisions.
