Best part of my work: Getting a patient with a newly diagnosed chronic illness, such as diabetes or sleep apnea, treated and in control. It's always rewarding hearing about the difference it makes in their lives.
Why I became a physician: It's a profession in which I can learn something new from my patients every day, not just the other way around.
What I tell my friends and family: Take time for yourself every day, even if it's only 15 minutes.
How I spend my free time: Cycling, camping, canoeing/kayaking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, traveling, training for the occasional marathon or 100 mile ride.

Favorite health tip: Evaluate how much sleep you function best on and strive to get that as often as possible.
