Practice philosophy: I believe that every person knows themselves best. My midwifery role is to support each patient to help them meet their health goals. I want to be a partner in each patient's health journey.

What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about reproductive health rights and believe that every person has the right to make decisions about their body.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A travel agent

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? After working as a medical service officer in the Army, I realized my passion for healthcare. Having my own child made me realize that midwifery was the career path for me.

What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned that we each come with our own perspective. What is right for one person isn't going to work for everyone.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I enjoy having to keep up with the research. Midwifery is always changing, and I like that the profession keeps me on my toes.

What is your personal health goal? My personal health goal is to feel good about myself and my body.

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Moving my body every day is the best way for me to feel good. I enjoy hikes and walking. A little time in nature every day helps me feel connected to my environment.

What are you most proud of? I am proud of my family.

What are a few of your personal achievements? I earned my PhD in Women's Health in 2011. I have taught hundreds of nursing and midwifery students over my career.
