In my practice I develop relationships and partner with patients to empower them to take charge of their own health and well being in a positive atmosphere. I was an intensive care nurse for many years before I went back to school to become a nurse practitioner. I wanted to help prevent the illness that I saw in the critically ill ICU patients.
Medicine is always changing and evolving. We are continuously learning new things -- new technology, new medicines, new procedures -- all to help improve the lives of people. It is sometimes challenging to keep up with all the changes, but it is very rewarding to see patients improve their health because of the medical advances.
