Biofeedback

Stress is a common part of life. How your body reacts to stress may have a big impact on your health. Biofeedback can help you improve your health and well-being by learning to control this reaction. Biofeedback training is intended to give you a confident, effective skill in self-coping.

What it is

Biofeedback uses special equipment to show you how your body reacts to stress. Sensors placed on your body measure key body functions like breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. A monitor uses sights and sounds to help you understand how your body changes in response to being stressed or remaining relaxed. During a biofeedback session, a therapist guides you through techniques so you learn how to remain relaxed.
