I was a preceptor for family practice residents from the United Family Medicine Residency Program in St. Paul, Minn. In 2004, United Family Medicine honored me with its Community Teacher of the Year Award. I also served on the Board of Trustees at the New Ulm Medical Center from 1999 to 2001.
