Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? Having a spinal cord injury at a young age and growing up in a wheelchair, I have had the privilege of receiving extraordinary health care. I strive to take those gifts and pay-it-forward.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Operating on the brain and spine requires an expertise of knowledge and anatomy. Each patient presents with a unique problem that requires careful consideration and individualized planning.

What are you most proud of? Providing state-of-the-art care requires participation in organized neurosurgery. I have presented academic work at national conferences including the CNS and the North American Skull Base Society. I have had multiple publications in neurosurgical journals including the JNS and World Neurosurgery.

What are a few of your personal achievements? Going through a neurosurgical residency as a paraplegic required the use of a standing wheelchair, allowing me to become the first paraplegic provider to complete a neurosurgical residency in the USA.
