What are you passionate about and why? I am most passionate about women's health care. I am passionate about this topic because sometimes women's health care issues be overlooked in some areas and I want to provide that gap in care.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A lawyer.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I first became a nurse because I was exposed to someone with muscular dystrophy. Once I became a nurse I knew from the get go that I wanted to make an impact on the lives of my patients.
What is something you have learned from your patients? To have good listening skills and make sure they are understanding their treatment plan before they leave the clinic.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I love being a detective and trying to figure out the diagnosis. It is so rewarding when I can help a patient figure out a problem they have been dealing with and come up with a treatment plan.
What is your personal health goal? Exercise more.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? The best thing I have done for my health is to take it one day at a time and give myself some grace, we all have set backs but it is how we overcome those set backs that make the difference.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of going for my goals (i.e. being dually certified) that I have achieved in my career.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Getting my DNP, becoming dually certified, and teaching upcoming nurses.
