Practice philosophy: I aim to provide understanding and acceptance as a foundation in therapy. I also hope to provide tools that will help empower patients to live a full and meaningful life.

What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about engagement with values and in meaningful activities in life. I believe we tend to be more able to live this life we would like when we know ourselves well and pursue the things that mean the most to us despite the inherent challenges on that journey. 

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? I would likely be a teacher or coach. 

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I enjoy learning about the history and experiences of others, and with being in service of others. When I first observed change in a patient that felt directly connected to the work together.

What is something you have learned from your patients? I've learned from my patients that we are often more similar than we are different and to approach the differences with kindness, openness and compassion.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I enjoy that there is so much we know about our psychological experiences, and that there is likely way more than that still left to learn. I think it keeps us in the healthy pursuit of answers.

What is your personal health goal? I aim to be physically and mentally active and to challenge myself in those ways daily.

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Taking up running years ago was probably the best thing I've done for my health. I enjoy it a lot, it helps to reduce stress and provides tangible ways to challenge myself physically.

What are you most proud of? I am very proud that I get to work in a field that is both helpful to others and also personally satisfying.

What are a few of your personal achievements? I have completed a doctoral degree, which felt like a long long road. I have successfully (I think) coached youth sports. And I have partnered to create a family that brings me overflowing joy!
