What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about family, friends, healthy relationships, health, wellness, good food and staying physically active because that makes me happy. I also love being outdoors and near water because it is good for the soul.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Teacher

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I have always been a caretaker and knew from a young age I wanted to go into nursing. I became a nurse practitioner because I enjoyed the diagnosing and treatment planning with patients.

What is something you have learned from your patients? I can prescribe a treatment plan but it requires a trusting relationship between the provider and patient to see successful outcomes. Asking the right questions is key to find out what motivates you. What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? There are so many complexities to humans and bodies and what once worked may no longer work. I enjoy trying new things and finding what works best for each individual situation.

What is your personal health goal? Stress less

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? I do yoga regularly. It keeps me breathing, strong, flexible, well balanced, in less pain and open minded.

What are you most proud of? My children.

What are a few of your personal achievements? Building a specialty practice, obesity medicine, within the primary care setting and now moving into full time obesity medicine.
