What are you passionate about and why? My passion is helping others work through their wound-related challenges; I find joy in helping people overcome acute and hard-to-heal wounds while managing symptoms in chronic-nonhealing wounds, providing feedback on lifestyle modifications that may assist with healing and whole-body well-being.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A mortician
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I knew since I was a kid that I wanted to be a doctor, but pursued a career in nursing instead, later becoming a Doctor Nurse where I can be both a nurse and a medical provider at the same time.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I have learned that everyone story is different, everyone has different obstacles in life, and no two people are the same.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I enjoy a challenging or stubborn wound because there is nothing more rewarding in this field than healing a complex wound or, if healing is not possible, reducing bothersome symptoms.
What is your personal health goal? To improve my work life balance
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? The best health advice that I have received and seemingly find very hard to take action on is to take care of myself so that I can take care of others.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the teams I work with who work very hard to meet the needs of those we care for.
