Practice philosophy: I aim to partner with my patients to help them through their diagnosis and treatment journey, no matter where that journey starts or ends.
What are you passionate about and why? My favorite part of being an advanced practice provider is having the time to spend with patients to explain medical concepts in away that is understandable.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Professional athlete, baker, or math teacher
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? My first professional career was a biochemist in drug development. I enjoyed the science of anti-cancer treatments and wanted to be able to connect those to the patient.
What is something you have learned from your patients? There is always good in a situation, even a cancer diagnosis.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Optimizing symptom and side effect management - many of our treatments haven't changed over time but we have made them more tolerable with supportive cares.
What is your personal health goal? Staying active with my kids every day and maintaining a good example for them.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Walking my dog every day and drinking enough water.
What are you most proud of? My son Hudson and daughter Abigail.
