Practice philosophy: I strive to provide the most up to date personalized, culturally competent care to prevent suffering and death due to cardiac arrhythmias.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about interacting with patients and their families as I provide care to prolong life, alleviate suffering and prevent death due to cardiac arrhythmias because this is very gratifying and requires life long learning in this continuously evolving field that is very technology driven.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? I would probably be an electrical engineer
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I fell in love with cardiac electrophysiology in fellowship because this specialty allows one to work with their hands, is very cognitive and combines my passions for physics/ electricity and healing.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I am constantly learning from all my patients because no two patients are exactly the same and we have to constantly personalize the approach to care.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? There are always new developments that affect how we diagnose and treat heart rhythm disorders. The constant need to keep up with the changes is challenging and yet very enjoyable at the same time.
What is your personal health goal? I am always trying to see if I can exercise and run faster for longer.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Exercise almost every day and enjoy it.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of being able to evolve and stay at the cutting edge of the field of electrophysiology since graduating from fellowship in 2013. I am extremely proud of our three children and how much joy they give to my wife and me.
