Angela Guist, PT, DPT

What is your practice philosophy? Angie highly values patient education and empowering patients with the tools they need to maximize their function and get back to whatever it is they love to do. She is very evidence based in her treatment using a functional approach to reach patient goals.  

What are you passionate about? And why? I love getting to hear people’s stories and finding out what motivates them. I like to incorporate this into my treatment and goal setting to maximize compliance and really help make the connection of why people want to get better.  

If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Travel Agent/guide- so I could keep exploring the world and help other people plan their adventures.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I always knew I would end up in healthcare, luckily I had a great mentor that really was the first one who had given me the idea. Then the first time I got to shadow a PT and see the amount of time they got to spend with patients, and the positive impact they could make in someone’s life, I was sold. 

Something I have learned from my patients is: People are so resilient, everyone has faced their own unique challenges and I’m amazed every day at how well people can rebound.

My personal health goal is: Get back to doing yoga on a regular basis  

What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received?  Running is my therapy, It always makes me feel better mentally and physically.  

What are you most proud of? Having two healthy, sweet boys.  

What are a few of your personal achievements? Having a baby during the pandemic, taking my OCS exam when I was 8 months pregnant with my first child.
