What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about my kids, serving at my church and helping others.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Limnologist (the study of inland bodies of water). I would get to spend all day on the lake for the sake of science!
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became a physician so I could be a lifelong learner and help others. My childhood pediatrician was a great role model and encouraged me to pursue medicine.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Everyone has a story to share. Take the time to listen and learn from each story.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): Treating complex medical problems and diagnoses. I loved puzzles growing up and am always up to solve a good puzzle/medical mystery.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Don’t worry about tomorrow or try to change the past. Focus on making healthy decisions today.
What are you most proud of? My kids.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Beijing Great Wall ½ Marathon. There were a lot of steps!
Also, I was one the first 100 customers at Chick-Fil-A when it opened in Madison, WI. Camped out for 24 hours in December, and received free Chick-Fil-A for a year.
