Practice Philosophy: I work with your providers, educate about medications and conditions, and adjust medications to maximize their effect and minimize their risk. Starting new medications can be beneficial, but stopping medications can be equally important when they are no longer necessary or are leading to possible side effects. My approach combines clinical evidence and patient preference with the goal of empowering people to make informed decisions about their medications and about their health.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Basketball coach.
What is something you have learned from your patients? Patients are never as simple as they appear on paper. Getting to know our patients and their stories helps us to best assist in managing their medical conditions.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Patients do not always fit directly into the guidelines for managing medical conditions. There are often complex factors that can impact how we manage medications in individual patients, and while this can be challenging, it also makes my job interesting and exciting.
