What is your practice philosophy? My practice philosophy is to provide empathetic, supportive and holistic care to my patients, which includes meeting them where they are at any given moment and partnering with them to create a path forward. I believe that collaboration is necessary and important within a high-risk perinatal setting, and I am grateful to work alongside an amazing team!  

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became a nurse practitioner to be able to support people in the most vulnerable of times and to make a difference in quality of life. Specifically, I love caring for patients in the perinatal setting because it is such a special yet very challenging time in their lives that our team is able to support them through.  

One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is that there is rarely a clear-cut treatment plan, and I get to do a lot of problem-solving, collaborating and learning on a day to day basis.     

My personal health goal is: My personal health goal is to meditate daily and to move my body in ways I enjoy every day (yoga, walking, running, hiking).   

What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? The best thing I have done for my health is completing a yoga teacher training, and becoming a registered yoga teacher. I believe strongly in the power of yoga and meditation not only for healing, but also for maintenance of spiritual, physical and emotional well-being.
