I am an internal medicine doctor with interests in preventive care and chronic diseases like depression, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and asthma. I also work with patients on PrEP treatment, and I offer face-to-face virtual visits for a variety of health services and conditions.
Practice philosophy: I am committed to accessible and quality health care for all. I see each patient as an individual, and I believe that health is your entire well-being: physical, mental and emotional, along with your relationships and your living situation.
I enjoy primary care because: it involves long-term relationships with patients. You have to earn patients’ trust, and some of what you know about a patient can really help in treatment. It is not just one size fits all.
I became a physician because: I love the art and science of medicine. The art is what happens when you get to know a person over time. It is about relationship building and communication. You combine that with the science of treatment and recognize that not everything has an exact answer.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is: the weight of the responsibility. It’s a privilege to get a perspective on people’s lives and be able to help them.
My patients have taught me: that everyone has a story and someone needs to tell it. Patients often need a safe place to tell their story, get guidance and talk about personal health concerns.
The best thing I have done for my health is: meditation and yoga. Take the time to slow down.
