Christopher W. Macomber, MD, MBA, FACS is the Medical Director of the Allina Health Center for Complex Hernia and Abdominal Reconstructive Surgery and the Director of the Allina Health Robotic Surgery and Technology Program.
Dr. Macomber specializes in robotic, laparoscopic and endoscopic approaches to general surgery conditions with a sub-specialty focus in robotic hernia surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, and hiatal hernia/reflux surgery. He is also experienced in treating a wide range of general surgery conditions including gallbladder disease, abdominal adhesions/bowel obstruction, soft tissue mass/lipoma excision, small intestine and colon conditions including diverticulitis and GI bleeds.
Dr. Macomber is very active in medical technology and device innovation research and design, holding numerous patents in novel medical and surgical devices as well as information technology. He enjoys leveraging his surgical background to create innovative technology to improve patient care. He has founded two successful start-up companies and works with many medical device and software companies on new technology to improve the care of a variety of medical and surgical diseases.
Dr. Macomber offers face-to-face as well as virtual visits for a variety of health services and conditions both for new consultations and as part of the post-surgery follow-up care.
