I am passionate about: helping my pediatric patients grow up to become happy, healthy, resilient, independent adults.
I became a pediatrician because: I get to be a scientist, a teacher, a counselor and an advocate for children.
Something I have learned from my patients is: to listen, have empathy and not judge.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is: taking care of families from all walks of life and from all over the world. I try to meet families where they are, regardless of where they come from and what life experiences they have had. The Twin Cities have become so wonderfully diverse that I can practice international medicine here every day without having to leave home.
My favorite parenting advice: Prepare your child for the path, not the path for your child.
My personal health goal is: to keep running until I'm 100.
