Matt Kresl, PharmD

What is your practice philosophy? I work with your providers, educate about medications and conditions, and adjust medications to maximize their effect. I will take action to correct drug therapy problems and follow up to ensure a resolution. I combine clinical evidence and personal preference with the goal of empowering people to make informed decisions about their medications and about their health.

Hometown: Omaha, Nebraska. In Minnesota for over 20 years. 

I am passionate about: Good conversations, learning new things, and taking care of myself/loved ones.  At the end of the day, we are social creatures who strive to make things better for the world at large. 

If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a:Teacher or writer come to mind.  I wanted to be a professional baseball and basketball player as a kid.  I had to give up on that dream when was about 16! 

Something I have learned from my patients is: They will teach you a lot if you know how to listen. 

One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is: It blends science, compassion, interacting with people, and practical problem solving.  There are few jobs that can give you all that in an hour!

My personal health goal is: Beat my son in a running race for as long as possible!

What are you most proud of? Being a spouse, son, and father. 

What are a few of your personal achievements? I have won a few professional awards and the Allina Health Uncommon Caring Award for a patient intervention I made a few years back.
