Practice philosophy: By teaching, we learn. I love to share knowledge and help others understand how to bring their body back to health. As an Osteopathic Physician, I try and use all of my tools, including osteopathic manipulation, to help people return back to the activities that they were doing and education them on staying healthy.
What are you passionate about and why? Brain injury medicine and educating people about it. There are not very many experts in this area and there is a lot of mystery about brain injury.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A writer.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I knew that I wanted to pursue medicine when I started working as a certified nursing aide at the age of 16. I completely fell in love with medicine.
What is something you have learned from your patients? Tuning grief into strength, strength into perseverance, perseverance into healing.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Exploring the unknown with my patients. There is often a lot of unknowns in rehabilitation and it really is rewarding to help patients walk through it.
What is your personal health goal? Remain healthy for my family.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Continue to go to the gym, especially on the days I don't want to.
What are you most proud of? Serving as a flight surgeon.
