Practice philosophy: By utilizing a combination of preventative, conservative, and operative treatments I seek to help educate and empower patients and help them achieve their goals.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about educating patients and helping them achieve their functional goals. Often an injury or surgery can feel overwhelming, but my goal is to help patients feel empowered and take charge of their care. I strive to ensure that every patient feels heard.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? I considered a career in construction management prior to medical school.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? Orthopedics combined my love of craftsmanship with interest in the human body and movement. I was interested in orthopedics starting medical school and the more I was exposed to it, I knew it was for me.
What is something you have learned from your patients? Although patients may have the same diagnosis, the approach and treatment to their problem is typically very individualized. I have also learned the importance of listening.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I enjoy the surgical complexity and the mechanical skill required to operate. I also enjoy the challenge of
helping patients avoid surgery when possible.
What is your personal health goal? To be faster and stronger than my four boys.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Daily exercise through weight training and eating a balanced diet to fuel my body.
What are you most proud of? My wife and four boys and the great support and examples they are to me.
