Practice philosophy: Throughout my practice, I emphasize attentive listening, kindness, and building trust, which contribute to the creation of a comfortable environment in which patients can receive healthcare.

What are you passionate about and why? Working with patients to prevent disease by encouraging healthy lifestyle choices and detecting potential diseases early is extremely rewarding. Why? Since I live with a few of these diseases myself, I want to show my patients that they won't stop you from living a healthy, long life.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A teacher.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I started nursing over 15 years ago and enjoy it. Work doesn't feel like work to me. It's like meeting friends and family for coffee or tea; the conversation concerns health and well-being.

What is something you have learned from your patients? It's ok to cry with patients. Happy tears and sad!

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? The constant need to adapt to rapidly changing technology can be a challenge, but once mastered, they are invaluable.

What is your personal health goal? Practice mindfulness and gratitude, and engage in activities that promote overall wellbeing.

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? 1) Food is fuel. It is meant to energize the body. 2) Sleep: Get enough sleep so your body can repair itself. 3) Hydration: Drink enough water to support the body and all its functions.

What are you most proud of? My wonderful husband and our three beautiful girls!
