Practice philosophy: The human body is a functional machine, and my goal is to keep yours as functional as possible for as long as possible. This utilizes a combination of preventive, conservative, and operative treatment options.
What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about medicine and optimizing musculoskeletal health for people of all ages. I completed a pediatric fellowship to be able to treat anyone that walks through the door, from babies to elderly patients.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Astronaut or physics teacher.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I have wanted to be a physician my entire life, my volunteer experiences working with war veterans at the VA, kids with muscular dystrophy, and tsunami disaster victims, confirmed my passion.
What is something you have learned from your patients? From working with orthopedic patients, I learned that shared decision making is the best way to come up with an individualized treatment option.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? As a physics geek, every orthopedic injury is a biomechanical challenge that I enjoy treating.
What is your personal health goal? My personal health goal is to stay healthy and be a good role model for patients and members of the community.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Exercising, eating a balanced diet, and keeping stress levels low is how I keep my mind and body healthy.
