What is your practice philosophy? To learn as much about my patients/clients as possible as to provide them with the most personalized care plan that fits their lifestyle.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Running coach, because I enjoy running and helping others who are interested in running grow stronger and more confident in their running abilities.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I became a Dietitian because it allows me to get to know the patients/clients on a deeper level and discover ways to help them get the most out of their body. We all need to eat, and with so many options available to us, it can become overwhelming very quickly. I enjoy helping patients/clients find ways to enjoy their food and provide their body with the most nutritious foods.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Consistency is one of the most important things you can do in life, and not just with food and lifestyle choices. Consistency can improve your relationships, your career, and help you find peace within yourself and the choices you make.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): What may be helpful and effective for one person, might not necessarily be true for another person. That is why I enjoy getting to know each patient as best I can, so that we can work together as a team to find out what lifestyle and nutrition choices will best serve them as an individual.
My personal health goal is: To run my first marathon.
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? I started running 4-5 times each week, which has helped manage stress as well as improve my cardiovascular health and sleep quality.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of serving as a preceptor for dietetic interns to help them become successful Dietitians. I enjoy watching my past interns succeed in not only becoming a Dietitian, but thriving in their new career.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Being recognized as “Young Dietitian of the Year” by the Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2022.
