Practice philosophy: I am completely devoted to my patients. I firmly believe in the notion to treat others like we wish to be treated. I believe that the practice of medicine is a ministry, a gift given to me, to care for those who need my help, understanding and comfort. I strive to combine compassion with the latest advances in science and research to provide the best available treatment for the patients.
What are you passionate about and why? My passion is providing hope and kindness to all of my patients and to provide the latest treatment advances in cancer to my patients. I enjoy spending time with my wife and 4 daughters and their families. I am also passionate about my faith.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? An entrepreneur.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? All my life I knew that I wanted to be in a position to help people. I believe being a doctor has the unique gift to be able to care for both the physical and emotional needs of patients.
What is something you have learned from your patients? The endurance and courage of my patients, especially those fighting cancer, teach me what is important in life. Never to take our health for granted and no one is guaranteed a tomorrow.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I think one of the main challenges of oncology is caring for those patients who are terminal. This can also be an opportunity to be by the side of patients during the hardest time of their life.
What is your personal health goal? Stay active, exercise on a regular basis.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Start an exercise program.
What are you most proud of? I am mostly proud of my four daughters. They give me purpose and reason to keep going.
What are a few of your personal achievements? Growing up, I had three main goals in life. To have a family, become a doctor and move to America. I managed to achieve all 3 of them.
