What is your practice philosophy? My philosophy is that it’s important to work together with patients to create a plan for their health.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: Either a coach or a teacher! Sports have been a big part of my life and I’d love working with athletes. I’ve also found I enjoy teaching and want to make it part of my career regardless.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I love the ability to work with people combined with the intellectual challenge of medicine. I appreciate the team based approach building relationships and lifelong learning. I decided on medicine after working as a scribe in college!
Something I have learned from my patients is: Patients are incredibly resilient and their stories and health journeys are so unique. I’ve learned a lot about health and life from listening to them.
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): I enjoy the challenge of figuring out how different aspects of health and life contribute to a patient’s disease.
My personal health goal is: To ski race the Birkebeiner in WI some day!
