Jack Ball, DO specializes in Family Medicine.

What is your practice philosophy? I believe in achieving health of the entire person: body, mind, and spirit. I delve into the symptoms to find the root cause to find a real treatment, not just relief from symptoms.
What are you passionate about? And why? I am passionate about LGBTQIA health because as a transgender individual, I have seen first-hand the way that others in our community get treated. I desire quality healthcare to be available to all individuals without judgment.
If I wasn’t a provider, I would be a: A martial arts instructor. I am passionate about martial arts and feel that it is great for both body and mind.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I knew from the age of 12 that I wanted to be a physician. My grandmother has diabetes, and I was fascinated to watch her take her blood glucose, give herself insulin, and analyze all the treatment that went together for this. I also wanted to help out and learn how to help musculoskeletal injuries during sports practices at school.
Something I have learned from my patients is: Every patient has goals. Talking with the patient and getting to know them helps set health goals that they can also appreciate (“I want to play catch with my grandson” or “I want to be able to walk around the mall with my spouse”, etc.)
One of the challenges of this career that I enjoy is (and why): I enjoy the challenge of family medicine because absolutely anything can walk through the door. I enjoy diversity, both of patients and of types of appointments.
My personal health goal is: To continue martial arts training with my family (hopefully make at least 8th degree black belt someday)
What is the best thing you’ve done for your health or the best health advice you’ve received? Take the time for self-care. A good night’s sleep with good food and time to relax and de-stress is very effective medicine at times.
What are you most proud of? Officially coming out in June of 2020
What are a few of your personal achievements?
Marquis Who’s Who 2020 nomination
5th degree black belt in 2017
