Practice philosophy: I work as a PT to help people achieve their goals and get back to doing what they want to do. I enjoy helping people help themselves and become more independent.

What are you passionate about and why? I am passionate about my work and community. I enjoy being involved; leading, organizing and attending events that support active lifestyle choices and authentic community bonds. I like to see people strive for their best, whatever level that is, and feel a supportive environment is vital for this.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A master gardener, naturalist and food preservationist.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I wanted to help people help themselves. Through job shadowing I found Physical Therapy was the best fit for me as it works with the whole person to maximize independence.

What is something you have learned from your patients? My patients teach me a lot about what it means to take life one step at a time and that we can achieve more than we think. They give me inspiration to stay healthy, to work smart and to work hard.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Physical Therapy can be challenging when progress is slow or limited. This outcome not only tests my patience but it can be difficult to explain to patients that they may have a new normal.

What is your personal health goal? I would like to complete an obstacle course 5K, run a half marathon, and do a pull-up.
