I am a board-certified family medicine and geriatric medicine physician and see patients 65 years of age and older. My professional interests include dementia, polypharmacy and complex medical issues.
Hometown: Pune, India
Best part of my work: Improving the quality of life of my patients.
Why I became a physician: Becoming a physician appealed to me even as a child. When I entered Medical School, it was clear to me that I loved to help my patients cope with emotional as well as physical issues. Later, when my father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, I knew my calling was Geriatric Medicine. I have found it to be an exceptionally fulfilling endeavor.
What I tell my friends and family: Take one day at a time. Eat in moderation and exercise as much as you can.
Personal interests: Music, reading, travel, dogs, theater (plays), concerts. Music is an integral part of my life.
What patients say about me: Patients and families like me for my patience and understanding. They appreciate my efforts in cutting down medicines and focusing on quality of life.
