I am a board-certified family medicine physician with professional interests in end of life care, mental health, ADHD, Adolescent health and cardiology.
Hometown: Milwaukee, WI
I'm passionate about: being a family physician and the hard work it takes to do this profession well.
My favorite movie is: Field of Dreams and Monty Python and The Holy Grail - sometimes life needs to be different. My favorite place to travel is Napa, California for good food and wine.
I knew I wanted to become a provider: in eighth grade, after being given the advice of my mother and Aunt Verna, who are both nurses.
One of the challenges of my career that I enjoy is: working with people who need mental health support, as so often this is overlooked. Depression, anxiety and ADHD can be helped with a caring team of professionals.
My personal health goal is: to wake up every morning with all of my parts working.
The best health advice I've heard is: from Satchel Paige. He said, "avoid running at all times and don't look back; something might be gaining on you." We need to enjoy life, not rush through it. We need to look forward to the gift of the future.
I'm most proud of: my family and staying connected to my wife of 38 years, my three children and my four grandchildren.
A few of my achievements include: being former president of Minnesota Academy of Family Physicians, shooting below 80 once-a-year on the golf course, and keeping my hybrid roses alive for five years.
