Anthonia Olajide-Kuku, MD

As a pediatrician, I provide regular medical care for newborns, children and adolescents. I offer pediatric appointments online as a virtual visits as well as in person at the Allina Health Maple Grove clinic for a variety of health services and conditions.

I offer pediatric care for illness and injury, including colds, fever, ear pain, sore throat, twisted ankles, pink eye and rashes. I have a special interest in adolescent care, preventive health and newborn care.

I am multilingual. In addition to English, I speak Yoruba and Hungarian. 

I’m passionate about: preventive medicine, especially immunizations.

Most people don’t know that: I studied medicine in Budapest, Hungary.

I knew I wanted to become a doctor: when I was a child. I lived near a hospital and spent hours watching medical students come in and out of the hospital in crisp white jackets. As I grew older, the ambition to help others became my motivation.

One of the challenges of my career that I enjoy: is being able to help a teenager who is having a difficult time or guiding a new mother in the first months of her child’s life.

The best thing I have done for my health is: to set aside 15-20 minutes for daily meditation.

Something I have learned from my patients is: the need to be compassionate and nonjudgmental.

My personal health challenge is: getting to the gym - so I purchased exercise machines for home.

I am most proud of: giving birth to my daughter.
