What is interventional radiology?

Interventional radiology uses imaging guidance such as CT/Ultrasound/X-ray and miniature instruments like small hollow tubes and catheters to access arteries and veins through minimally invasive techniques allowing for smaller intrusions and incisions to the body and for faster recovery.

Interventional radiology involves procedures such as biopsies, catheterizations, and angiograms to diagnose and treat conditions such as: bleeding, cancer, enlarged prostate, fibroids and many more.
