- are not yet ready for treatment
- tend to cycle through treatment with little long-term success
- do not prefer a group setting
- are in a civil commitment
- are stepping down from intensive outpatient treatment
- are experiencing addiction and may also have mental health issues and trauma

Individualized outpatient addiction services at Allina Health
Our individualized, low intensity, addiction treatment services provide you with outpatient counseling using evidence-based therapy, education and skill building to treat addiction and support recovery.
These services combine one-on-one addiction counseling with group counseling. Group schedules are flexible and designed for you to schedule your treatment around your daily responsibilities.
Services include:
- individual counseling sessions: offered Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- group counseling sessions: offered days and evenings; group schedules discussed at time of intake
- help with financial, employment and legal problems
- family education regarding substance use and recovery
- help with community supports (including connection with peer recovery support specialists)
You are encouraged to attend at least one group counseling session each week.
How to Qualify
To qualify for services, you will need to complete an assessment for substance use disorder (formerly known as Rule 25). Results from your assessment help our specialists better understand your condition and select the best treatment options to meet your needs.
