How to connect

You will need a referral from your primary care provider or specialist. Your primary care provider or specialist can: 

  • evaluate your symptoms
  • provide a physical examination
  • order initial lab work and testing
  • provide insight into the type of specialized care you may need for your condition
  • refer you for specialized valve and structural heart disease care

Image transfers 

We also have the ability to receive transfers of any recent imaging work performed outside of our facility to minimize repetitive services.

  • Notify the AHMHI valve team (612-863-8258) once images have been uploaded. 

What to expect

Medical evaluation is the first step to better understand your medical condition and needs. Evaluations may include advanced cardiac imaging with echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed tomography (CT). Your care team will include physicians, interventional cardiologists and surgeons, who will work with you to develop a care plan that meets your needs and provides the necessary support for recovery.

Clinical trials

We have a long history of leading and participating in major clinical trials of valvular and structural heart disease. Patients may be eligible to participate in these trials and access unique and innovative therapies.
