Allison K. West, MD

Haugen OBGYN is a team of dedicated medical professionals providing women with comprehensive health care of superior quality. Our care is personalized to an individual’s needs and is provided in an environment of respect and trust. We encourage our patients to participate in decision making about their pregnancy, labor, and delivery at the birth center.

Dr. West attended medical school and completed her residency program at the University of Minnesota Medical School. She has been board certified in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health since 2007.

I chose a career in obstetrics and gynecology so I could take care of women and assist them through all the different stages of life. I particularly like taking care of women planning to conceive and throughout a pregnancy and childbirth. Being present for one of my patient's labor and delivery is a very special experience. It is wonderful to develop a personal relationship and be a part of a patient's life through this event. I think this relationship and the personal touch that I bring to communication about patients' concerns makes this a rewarding and successful interaction for both me and my patients. The John Haugen OB/GYN doctors are especially excited to be a part of the new Mother Baby Hospital and birth center as we have always done a majority of our deliveries at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. In our free time, my husband and I delight in spending time with our daughters born in August 2009 and March 2011. We also enjoy biking and running at the Minneapolis lakes, eating out at great restaurants, and traveling.
