Stephen C. Remole, MD, FACC
My specialties:
- Cardiovascular disease
- Clinical cardiac electrophysiology
Professional interests:
- Ablation for complex heart rhythm disorders
- anticoagulation
- Placement and management of implanted pacemakers and defibrillators
- Virtual visits
My practice philosophy involves being a translator – I listen to your symptoms, acquire data from examination and testing, formulate a diagnosis, then explain it all back to you in terms you can understand, with a plan that you and I tailor to your needs, expectations and abilities.
I offer face-to-face virtual visits for a variety of health services and conditions.
I grew up with medicine: my father worked in cardiology, my mother was a nurse, her father a dentist and my sister a nurse. My siblings and I were encouraged to question and investigate everything. I spent time in a cabinetry shop during and after college, but ultimately I felt the pull of medicine to be too strong.
I am passionate about trying to get my patients into position to enjoy their eighties.
Something I learned from my patients is we all want the same thing, good health, but bad habits and inertia can be very difficult to overcome.
I am proud of the fact that my wife and I raised two successful children.
Prior to joining Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute, I was an assistant professor of medicine in the cardiology division at the University of Minnesota. I have served as president of Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute and medical director of the Cardiac Centers of Mercy & Unity Hospitals. I also have been a member of Allina Hospitals & Clinics Board of Directors and the Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation Board.
