Practice philosophy: I strive to meet all people where they are, and build inclusive, affirming, and trusting partnerships with patients.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Until senior year of high school, I had planned on pursuing music education.
Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? To provide representation and true understanding to my patients, as I am part of the community and did not have that representation growing up.
What is something you have learned from your patients? Silence and listening often reveal more than the questions I ask.
What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? Treatment plans are individual. Coming up with a plan that works for each person takes time and effort, which is challenging and rewarding.
What is your personal health goal? Keep up with the gym and weightlifting, at least 4 days a week.
What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? When I'm feeling low energy or thinking I'm too busy to move my body or eat right: "Something is better than nothing."
What are you most proud of? The relationships I've built with my partners and my friends; chosen family is everything.
What are a few of your personal achievements? I completed a MA in Bioethics and bring this to my practice. I then obtained the Healthcare Ethics Consultant- Certified (HEC-C) credential from ASBH and am a member of the WPATH Ethics committee.
