Samantha Poehling, PA-C

I am a Team Care Provider (TCP) and help cover appointments, online messages and calls as an extension of your care team. I work with Dr. Christopher Spoke, Dr. Syed Z Hasan, Dr. Shilpa Paul, Dr. Nadia Malik, and Dr. Brian Miller and am able to help when your primary care provider does not have availability. While patients are unable to establish regular care with me, I diagnose, treat and manage various health conditions, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications and provide patient education and counseling, keeping your provider informed along the way. ​

Practice philosophy: Treat each patient with the same level of care and respect I would want my own family members to receive.

What are you passionate about and why? I'm passionate about prioritizing others in both my personal and professional life. While I've chosen a science-focused career path, I enjoy challenging my creative side by exploring interior design and fashion.

If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? Fashion Stylist.

Why did you become a provider? When did you know this was the career for you? I knew this career was the one since I shadowed a PA in high school. The one-on-one patient care paired with improving someone's well-being through treatment plans resonated with me.

What is something you have learned from your patients? My patients have shown me the value of patience when problem-solving. I gain deeper insights by actively listening to them rather than through questioning.

What is one of the challenges of this career you enjoy? And why? I find fulfillment in the challenge of helping patients with complex diagnoses, turning life-altering moments into opportunities to provide comfort and empathy.

What is your personal health goal? To get an hour of outdoor activity every day!

What is the best thing you've done for your health or the best health advice you've received? Little goals can be big goals too! The best advice I've received is "everything is okay in moderation". Often times, healthier choices make us feel better overall and that's what I strive for.

What are you most proud of? I'm proud of my parents for providing me with the opportunities that have allowed me to reach where I am today. Additionally, I'm incredibly proud of my husband for starting his own construction company and supporting our family while I pursued my education.

What are a few of your personal achievements? Softball state champion. Graduating PA school with distinction.
