Practice philosophy: I strive to be a trusted advisor for my patients. I first need to get to know the patient and their injury or problem. I then need to earn their trust by careful discussion of their goals, problems and potential surgical ways to address the issues. If surgery is indicated, then it is my job to deliver state of the art techniques done in a careful and meticulous manner.
What are you passionate about and why? I strive to make my patient's problems as minimal as possible. I really want patients to feel well-cared for.
If you weren't a health care provider, what would you be? A professional espresso barista.
What is something you have learned from your patients? I am always amazed at how strong the human spirit is and how patients can make it through very bad injuries or very unfortunate circumstances. Patients really respond to complete honesty.
What is your personal health goal? I want to get back to cycling very strongly for up to 100 miles at a time.
What are you most proud of? I am most proud of the character of my son and daughter. I am also proud of playing a small part in the education of over 100 Orthopedic Surgeons.
What are a few of your personal achievements? I have co-edited an award winning textbook, Surgical Treatment of Orthopedic Trauma.
